Pride Fest 2026 — Big Indo Energy: Certified

Event description:

Big Indo Energy: Certified was an original queer Indonesian variety show combining drag, burlesque, contemporary Indonesian performance, live dangdut and audience participation. Featuring Indonesian and Asian-Australian performers, the show invited audiences to engage directly with Indonesian culture through performances, language games, food challenges, dance and humour rather than simply watching from their seats.

What we achieved:

The event provided a professional platform for culturally diverse queer performers while presenting Indonesian culture in a contemporary, playful and accessible way. Interactive activities encouraged audiences from different backgrounds to participate in language, music, dance and cultural traditions together. The program demonstrated how queer arts can celebrate cultural identity, challenge stereotypes and create connections between Indonesian and wider Australian communities.
